Pro-Optics is proud to announce the launch of its new Mini 12G-SDI Multi-Service Fiber Optic Extender, a compact and professional broadcast-grade fiber transmission solution designed for 4K UHD video production, live broadcasting, sports events, studio applications, and professional AV systems.

The new extender enables the transmission of one channel of uncompressed 12G-SDI video, one reverse RS-485 data channel, and two reverse TALLY channels over a single-mode single fiber, supporting transmission distances of up to 10 kilometers with zero latency and lossless signal quality.

Designed for Modern 4K Broadcast Workflows

As broadcasters and content creators continue to adopt Ultra HD production, reliable long-distance transmission of 4K video signals has become increasingly important. The Pro-Optics Mini 12G-SDI Fiber Optic Extender fully supports SMPTE ST 2082-1 (12G-SDI), ST 2081-1 (6G-SDI), SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M, and SMPTE 259M standards, providing seamless compatibility with existing SDI infrastructures.

The solution supports 4K UHD video at 60fps and remains backward compatible with HD-SDI and SD-SDI systems, allowing customers to upgrade their networks without replacing existing equipment.

Broadcast-Grade Reliability

Unlike many standard fiber extenders, the Mini 12G-SDI Multi-Service Fiber Optic Extender utilizes a pathological signal optical module and successfully passes 12G-SDI pathological pattern testing. This ensures stable operation even under demanding broadcast conditions and with non-standard signal patterns.

Integrated clock recovery technology further improves transmission stability by reducing signal jitter and restoring distorted signals.

The compact system combines video, control, and tally transmission into one fiber connection:
